After I became a mother, I started paying more attention to what I ate and what I fed my growing family. I never felt the need to eat a healthy real food diet before, but after having children I am depended upon as never before so my health has become a concern. The primary cause of many health issues can be related to the diet choices one has made, as well as genetics. Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride realized the correlation between a healthy gut and various psychological disorders. Because of her understanding of how a healthy diet affects many health issues, she developed the gut and psychology syndrome diet, otherwise known as the gaps diet. This diet focuses on a healthy gut that has a balance of gut flora and the elimination of grains. Without a balance of gut flora, your digestive system will have a difficult time processing foods and extracting nutrition from the foods that you eat.
In order to develop a healthy gut with a balance of flora in the gut, gaps diet recipes should be used. Using recipes that are specific for a certain diet are necessary and makes the diet of your choice easier to follow. In choosing the right recipe, you won’t have to substitute any ingredients because all the ingredients will keep to the principles of the diet. Margaritas – Thanks for the MemoriesI love a good margarita on a hot summers day. My girlfriend and I like to make up a batch and sit by the pool out back and soak up the rays while sipping on our salty drinks. There is just something about a margarita’s lime succulent flavor that draws you in and transports you to an exotic island. I guess we associate a margarita with all the trips we have taken, whether it was when we went to Mexico or Saint Bart’s or anywhere in the Caribbean really, we always ended up enjoying some margaritas while relaxing from our flight or after a day on the beach. I suppose even in the back yard, that association helps us to unwind and relax like no other cocktail can do. Even when we have friends over for a dip in the pool, we just mix up some extra batches so that all of us can enjoy the margarita goodness while we have fun relaxing.
